in response to this article about mosquito spraying in our neighborhood tonight, i sent the following email to the reporter, looking for more info:
I live in that area and saw the sign outside our complex this morning.
We have a LOT of ducks in the area, including some baby ones. Do you know if they say anything about how harmful it is for them?
this was his response:
As I understand it, it’s not harmful to mammals.
Good thing ducks are mammals … ?
And good thing reporters usually have their bachelors degree?
Jesus. I’ll be thinking about those baby ducks, yo.
update: seems like everyone came through okay. still not thrilled that it had to happen, but at least we’re all still alive and kicking.
